Detroit, MI - October 30th, 2011 (Devil's Night) Companies throughout the City responded to multiple Box Alarms throughout the day. As it is on this day most of the fires were suspicious in nature. The Detroit Fire Department this year by orders of the Fire Commissioner used an additive to help extinguish the fires faster. With the heightened level of security the Detroit Police Department along with members of the Detroit Fire Department Arson Squad, ATF and ICE responded to all of the fires to aid in crowd control. The Detroit News Media reported only 18 working fires from Midnight to Midnight of the 30th, and some 50,000 "Angel's Night" volunteers were reported to have patrolled the streets in an effort to cut down on the number of Arson fires.
